Cook Idea

if in KL we have a wei sek kai (Jalan makan-makan) in Pudu
in Prai it has to be Chai Leng Park (Taman Chai Leng)

It was 3pm on Saturday afternoon and most of the restaurant in the area is closed for business and we landed our bum here Sa Ho Fun
Didn't know we can have Ipoh well known dish in Prai too!!

You can opt for soupy version

Or the dry one like this

Prawn wan tan aka dumpling

Highlight of all the dish is the chicken below
The chicken meat is so tender you can swallow without chewing..the meat is very smooth with good combination of soy source and soon we were fighting for the last piece
I began to ask myself if this is the criteria of Bukit Mertajam chicken
If you happen to be around come and give it a try

Crab Island

This was an unplanned outing

Out of the blue Huei has this craving for crab and within 20mins we are already on our way to Pulau Ketam. It was a hot Saturday and as we walked to the port I snapped this, railway track. In the 80s, when I used to follow my dad around doing his routines sales, we always stopped our car to give way to the trains. These days, we hardly do so as trains has their own track (mostly over the bridge) and so does motorway for the cars.

As we walking to the ferry we saw these sampan. Huei is telling me he wish to carter these boat to go fishing one of these days..& pretended not heard that I head straight to the ferry. You see I have serious seasick and there is no way I would follow him to goes on the sampan.

The journey took about 30-40mins. After a short walking in Pulau Ketam, we sat our bum for resting and proceed with our second mission, answering our tummy's loud call.

Our first dish Teo Chew Steam Promfet.

Fried bee hon with crab. We ordered 2 sea water crab and it weighted almost 1kg of each.

Fish ball soup

See I am not lying about the crab size, is really huge!! Each of them weighted at least 1 kg!!

The ferry that fetching us back to Port Klang.

Bali Hai Seafood Village

It was a lovely Friday
The dinner set at 7pm and on the way to the location I managed to capture this near Subang Summit

We gather here to celebrate Ee and Annie farewell
Bali Hai just opened for a month and Miss Lim who live nearby decided to bring us here to try out.
This restaurant originated from Penang and is very well known among locals and tourist.

The table setup is very unique with multi colors plate.

Nippon Tei

Upon hearing from colleagues that Baskin Robbin would be giving out free ice cream I ask Huei this..

Me: Baskin giving out free ice cream tonight from 8-10pm.
Huei: Really? Let's go and get our share!!
Me: You sure? Its going to be super looong q..
Huei: Free ma..must go!!

With this, we dazed to Alamanda and reached there by 8pm. As we run ourselves to the second floor we came to huge dissapointment upon seeing the queue...so long all the way until Carrefour entrance (between 300 to 500m) in distance.

We decided to go for dinner and check back the queue later.

Fresh salmon sashimi

Fried salmon skin salad

Potato salad with roe

Tuna maki

Fried octopus

And the main course..Beef Sukiyaki

It was indeed a super yummy dinner..
All of the above is RM58++  under their Ramadhan promo

We went back to Baskin Robbin but the queue grew even longer and eventually we give up  :|||

Ba Na Temple

It is second day of the week Tuesday..
after the blue blue Monday

Remember I said in Danang to go from one place to another required a lot of walking?
Today we are visiting Ba Na Hill's temple

It was 9am in the morning, and we were asked to walked for 20 mins to our destination. It was uphill road and for a lazy person who hardly exercise, this is extremely tiring for me.

We come for this temple Chua Linh Ung Ba Na, in the middle of Ba Na Hill.

A mountain of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha Statue in the garden of the temple.

A giant Siddhartha Gautama Buddha Statue overseeing Ba Na Hill.
Yes, almost every corner of Danang is temple with Buddha statue

The other attraction of Ba Na Hill is the the World Longest Cable Car. This is really long..it took almost 30mins to reach the top. I will share more in my next post.

Happy working!!
