Steam egg the comfort food

Steam egg is a simple and easy prepare dish at home. Most of us grew up with steam egg as your favorite comfort food, right? Perhaps it is just me, I always have fond memories of my late mum spoon feeding me dinner when I was a child.

But do you know it is actually very difficult to make a perfect steam egg? The timing must be right, water texture i.e. using mineral water compared to normal water etc to ensure no overcooked, texture just right not overly hard.

So far the best place serving steam egg would be Sun Kam Kee at Pudu. This place bring back a lot of memories with my colleagues. We just joined the work force not long ago and still very juniors. We would invite others & drove all the way from Shah Alam to Pudu just to eat here. LoL!!!

Their famous Thai style steam Talapia fish. According to my other half, he said the taste is incomparable compare to Laem Hin in Phuket... You see once you intro the best food to your other half he tend to compare and complaint whenever you intro new place to him. Sometimes it just hard to please the men.
For KL standard, I would say their Thai style steam fish is better than some Thai restaurant. Almost every table order the very same fish. Even my dad who came for the first time is enjoying himself.

See we clean up the whole dish- just yummylious!!

The location: Beside the Pudu post office near the Pudu market.

Dinner @ Betong

Consider as one of the best Thai food in Betong, this is my favourite place for dinner whenever I come here. Although by name it say Chinese food, to us this place is very much a Thai restaurant which maintain its local taste bud.

You do aware Thai serves very cheap beer right? For dinner we go easy with Sugar Cane (Left) and Green Water (Right). The green water is not any green tea alike, it is a local drinks that helps to cool your body down after a hot day.

Fried Ikan Haruan serves with charcoal underneath

The spicy sour soup base for Ikan Haruan

The final output of the dish spicy sour soup with fried Ikan Haruan the restaurant signature dish. Very yum yum to go with Thai fragrance rice!!!

Spicy Chicken Feet Salad really spicy with the chili padi

Pork slice Salad

Fried Sotong

Seafood Tom Yam - really really spicy

Lastly stir fried Kang Kung

How to get here:
Go behind Sri Betong Hotel. You see a signature above- an alley between the hotel with a fruit stall.

Follow the signature @ turn to the alley

You soon see the restaurant with the same signboard. This restaurant does not located by main road. This is what people usually said hidden gems are rare and hard to find - even this restaurant also so hidden within the town.
